In VR2 with 3D view there was a Chrome plugin to get the boat position in ZEZO.
How to get the boat position in VR3 with the new interface?
Thx for your help!

They changed the protocol again, so you have to type the numbers.

Not so bad as it sounds, numbers are available in the 3D again, or in the boat info panel if you click your own boat and scroll all the way to the right (or click the left arrow or the last dot)

ok and what about the plugin "Route Zezo.org"

Does not work anymore.

It relied on a loophole - a request for the weather conditions (so you could see the rain) was made in clear text with the boat position in it.

The new game protocol is entirely different.

In theory it can be worked around too, but not with Chrome plugin. Maybe Firefox would work, but it may involve installing old versions in the future. Also external program. Certain Android app is also possible, but it will require a rooted phone and so on. Not very user-friendly in any case (well, maybe the ff plugin could be)

The extension Route zezo.org is functional (it extracts the points to put them in a table).

Do you write Firefox plugins too? The previous API, not the google one and not the shitty XML one? I have something in mind.

No, but I can look, what do you have in mind ?

The websocket monitor functionality. Intercept the traffic, decode the JSON and display to user. Not just to get him here, also show real boat speed, broken foils, do logging as evidence and whatever.

The other way around is MITM proxy because of the SSL and that's not for the average user, even not for the average admin.

I am a small amateur developer ... I think people like toxcct / mcmgj are better placed than me to help you

It may not be very complicated, but requires some research, and the learning curve may be a bit steep.

Would take an hour or two to someone with API knowledge, that's why I'm asking around.

I've been thinking about it for a while. In retrospect it would have been more useful to write a plugin than the entire C0 stuff.

92 Miles from the start on a heading of 140 and dropping like a stone thru the rankings. Sure would like to get a position fix.

That's because some boats have gybed South and are making better VMC. You shouldn't be concerned with rankings at this phase of the race.

I was in the top 10, 1-2-3 for a while, 2222 or 3333 now, depends on what ranking you look.

The first moment of truth will come in a day or so, but there will be drama for 3 weeks, and that's what makes it fun.

I really love to look at the ranking now. I think we're probably at the end of the fleet seen distance to finish. I think there are only dead boats behind us.

But I loove my position at the moment. Can't complain...

On a leg like this, it's the ranking at the finish line that counts. Whoever comes for a western route will see ranking go to tens of thousands.

And them someone heading a bit more west right from the start can pop 20 miles in front of us around st. Helena ;-)
