toxcct can you confirm the current version of the polars? I'm showing 5.0.0-B14. The reason I ask is I'm seeing some pretty severe discrepancies, for example 25.3 tws in the game gets me 25.7 of boat speed, but the polars say I should have 25.9.

The polars are probably OK, but the game is hiding information from you.

Like it may actually be sailing at TWA 140.5 and wind of 25.28. It creates about 0.2 knots difference but stays hidden in the display rounding error.

Speed difference between 140 and 141 is about 0.35 knots, but the VMG is about the same. In fact slightly higher at 141 because the cos() is 0.777 vs 0.766

It is, as far as I know...
But as Cvetan indicates, polars are only a theoretical speed.

Then your boat actual speed is the one known on the server, which we can only know by using the dashboard. And there is nothing we can do if the game interface indicates a speed which is severly different from the server's.

If you took part of the Dubaï to Muscat race, you probably noticed that the game interface (and the polars) was indicating a certain speed, where on the server, they where using totally different polars, reduced by 80% of the original performances...

Hmm...

Dashboard and game interface are consistent, I'm now at 140 TWA and 25.5 kn/hr on the interface and 140.3 and 25.51 on the Dashboard but the polars are still calling for 25.71.
Why not just adjust the polars to reconcile all sources?

And of course as I'm typing this my interface speed just clicked to 25.6.

Is this just a matter of the serious players trying to extract every tenth and hundredth out of an interface that isn't really equipped to provide that level of fine tuning, either in the controls or the display?

Yes that's what I have also, I may have had the wrong TWS input before, but it's still a constant 0.2 off from the interface.

It seems to calibrate again when you get up to 26 kn, but I think the sweet spot in terms of TWS in the downwind spectrum of 23-24-25 needs to be adjusted.
