The polars from TOXCCT and Zezo do not match... The polars from Toxcct seem weird to me and the one from zezo seem closer to the one of the VOR than an Ultime.

They have submitted a new boat for this challenge as far as I see from within the internal messages exchanged between VR client and server.

That's why this boat is entitled "Ultimate MACIF" on my Polars App, and that's why it's default shape doesn't look as we used to.

Can you double check again and tell me if I'm wrong please ?

OK, maybe a way to attract new players from VR. With CO and foils only, we can have a pretty competitive boat...

Because they were VOR polars ;-)

In the interface only, the router is correct.

OK....my memory of the polars for the VOR was correct... :-)

Looks like the use of foils and pro sails does not change the ETA. Any idea why?

There is a high pressure system waiting for us before the finish line. A day or two with close to zero speed. That will allow the slower boats to catch up with the leaders.

That's not just a high that's a black hole, 3 days to go 250 miles...

Pauvre Franois, 1500 NM behind the frontrunners floating somewhere around the Azores... Maybe someone inform him about Zezo? How can a legend like him be so wrong?

Well, after that race, I propose you to switch and play on his field... I mean, IRL ;)

Looks like he is giving up !
Disgusted in one race, well done VR ! :)

I doubt whether it's actually François who is sailing this MACIF. Looking at his course it looks like a total n00b, he is sailing upwind around a depression instead of downwind. Methinks VR uses only his name to attract more contenders.

Does he looks like a noob now? :p

Useless comparison. This time it's for real not behind a keyboard for MACIF, so even more reason to believe it was not Gabart himself during the MACIF challenge.

Beaten by better than him, like in VR ? :p

Nope, mainly beaten because his boat was broken.

Joyon eventually won after his 7th attempt at it, and anyway, Gabart is only 35. My penny that he will win the Route Du Rhum anytime soon...

I agree with you, and even if damage is somehow linked to fatality, IMHO, as Gabart knew his boat for having sailed round the world with it, he also has a part of responsibility : he may have taken too much risk when the sea was too strong whereas Joyon slowed down in that conditions.

Actually not.
I advise you reading the race logbooks from both racers (available from the official race site).

Breaking a boat is not always when you take too much risks.
Learn a little about it ;)
