Hi Klauwhamer,
For an explanation see under Q&A.

Don't think it talks about that. I think he means the dots/circles and squares along the green, red and blue lines that move with the mouse pointer. Have often wondered myself - the dots/circles seem to be time increments along the track but the square on the red track is weird...

Dots are 10 minutes. Larger dots are 1 hour. Circles are 3 hours.

Squares are supposed sail changes. Not very accurate, just to remind you of the possibility.

While we are talking finer points...

The TWA on a route dot isn't exactly wind dir - heading

If i set the wind field to +3h and hover the mouse next to the 3hr dot the smaller wind info box has very different wind dir/speed to that for the route info box.

How come?

The visual wind field is not interpolated over time. Only the "current" moment is, then the wind barbs are fixed to the 3-hour winds.

So if you click a dot on a thick blue line the popup info will match the wind hover box.

The track tool itself uses interpolated data for every 10 minute point.
